Which phenomena or what kind of properties of the world (ontology) might it help me to reflect on?
How or on what basis do I think each method/source can do this (epistemology)? I believe that in-depth interviews would be an excellent method for me to understand how spirituality is enacted; however, it starts with me. An auto-ethnographic project about my journey to spiritual autonomy through deep chakra work will help ground my research. Small focus groups would work well, too. Which part(s) of the puzzle might each method/source help me to address and in what ways? For this question, I will focus on "What is Most Interesting about This?" My Black Baptist roots run deep, but I have a new spiritual path. I firmly believe that I'm not the only one who is experiencing/has experienced this phenomenon. While conducting interviews, focus groups, and hosting "inner"ventions, I will begin to see the connections and limitations Black womxn may face when it comes to engaging in the self-restoration practice of journal writing. What perspective(s) might each method/source help me to take on the puzzle, or what lines of enquiry might it enable me to pursue?
For this question, I will focus on the "What do you want to investigate?" I want to create opportunities for Black womxn to experience the restorative power of Mother Earth (nature) while exploring their relationships with self-restoration and journal writing. Additionally, I want to honor my Throat Chakra mantra of "creating and holding spaces for Black womxn where we may laugh and love together, cry and create together, heal and inspire hope together." In these spaces we will be able to co-create our being and knowing.
